Public Commitment to Improve Sustainability Performance at Chicopee

At Chicopee, we are proud to announce that we have signed the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to enhancing our sustainability performance. By embracing this pledge, we are aligning with global efforts to make tourism a force for good, ensuring that our operations meet the needs of today’s visitors, while protecting the environment and supporting the local community for future generations.

The UN World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities.” As stewards of this vision, we are dedicated to making meaningful improvements year over year.

Our Commitment to Sustainability:

Each year, we pledge to measure, evaluate, and improve our sustainability performance by focusing on the following key initiatives:

  1. Energy Efficiency: We are actively reducing energy consumption through LED lighting retrofits, and implementing energy-efficient snowmaking technology.
  2. Waste Reduction: We have enhanced our recycling programs and we are working toward eliminating single-use plastics across our facility.
  3. Water Conservation: Our snowmaking operations are being optimized to use less water.

By working toward these goals, we aim to be a responsible leader in sustainable tourism, creating positive impacts that extend far beyond our slopes. Our sustainability journey is just beginning, and we will continuously strive for improvement by setting new targets and achieving measurable results each year until 2030.

Together, we can ensure that Chicopee remains a destination where nature, adventure, and community thrive for generations to come.
